A truck in Poland caused chaos on the road when its full cargo of beers spilled out.

''It was shut for four or five hours while we swept up the broken glass and hosed away the beer.''

Firefighters and police were called in after the load was emptied onto the road, and the emergency services were forced to close the road for five hours while the alcoholic beverages were swept up.

An emergency service spokesman said: ''It was shut for four or five hours while we swept up the broken glass and hosed away the beer.''

The lorry had been delivering to bars in the southern Polish city of Wadowice when the driver took a bend too quickly and upset his cargo.
