A man in Britain had to be rescued by fire crews after getting his head stuck in a bin.

''When I got to the pub and people told me the real story, I could not believe it. Everyone was talking about it, and having a laugh about the commotion it caused.''

The 52-year-old guy was saved by firefighters in Aberdeen after his head got jammed in the public rubbish container for a few hours, and the emergency services officials spent more than 15 minutes freeing the embarrassed individual from his uncomfortable state.

A witness told The Sun newspaper: ''I thought it must have been a fire that had been put out by the time I walked past, because there was no smoke or flames.

''When I got to the pub and people told me the real story, I could not believe it. Everyone was talking about it, and having a laugh about the commotion it caused.''

It is not known for sure how the man got his head stuck in the bin but he is thought to have been looking for his hat.
