A Korean woman has passed her theory driving test on the 950th attempt.

Cha Sa-soon - who attempted the test nearly every day since April 2005 - has finally passed the written exam with the necessary 60% pass mark.

The 68-year-old grandmother must still now pass the practical driving test part of the exam before she is able to get her license.

Mrs Sa-soon - who has reportedly spent the equivalent of more than $4,200 trying to pass - said she needed the license for her vegetable-selling business.

She said: "I felt so ashamed of myself for failing so many times. My four children were overjoyed at the news that I finally passed it.

"I still have to pass the real driving test but I think it will be easier for me to pass than the paper test."
