A UK man who bet £100 he would live to be 100 has won £25,000.Alec Holden, from Epson, Surrey, placed the bet on his 90th birthday, after bookmakers William Hill gave him odds of 250/1. The retired engineer, who has two sons aged 70 and 60, says the secret to a long life is eating porridge for breakfast and "remembering to keep breathing".Holden, who was born on 24 April 1907, joked he had been "very careful" recently, adding: "My card from the queen came this morning. I think I saw her deliver it on her bicycle."
