A driving lesson on Good Luck Road ended in disaster when the learner crashed into an apartment.

Police in Lanham, Maryland, say the unlucky accident occurred when a man - who was being taught to drive by his friend - unintentionally crashed his minivan through the wall of Robert Scriber's home.

Robert narrowly avoided serious injury from the van - which crushed a bed he had been laying on moments earlier - and escaped with minor scratches and bruises.

The man was in the country illegally and neither of them had driving licenses.

The pair have been charged with reckless endangerment and the driver has also been charged with driving without a license.
