A Chinese boy got more than he bargained for when he tried to grab a fish from a public fountain and nearly had his finger bitten off by a piranha. The 14-year-old had been messing around by the water feature in Hong Kong when he was bitten by the carnivorous fish. Luckily he managed to escape with three stitches to his index finger but marine experts claimed he could have easily lost his finger. It is thought the man-eating fish, usually found in the Amazon, had been dumped in the fountain by owners who no longer wanted them as pets. Officials have now drained the fountain and removed the two dangerous fish.
