Family stunned to wake up to croc in living room

An Australian family were stunned when they woke up to find a 1.7-metre saltwater crocodile in their living room.

I don't know if he was stalking the dog or he was just trying to get to saltwater, most likely, but it was really a very surreal moment.

Wildlife rangers in the Northern Territory of the country were called in to capture the beast, but it is thought the croc may have been pushed out of its normal surroundings by an even bigger animal.

Jo Dodd - who discovered the animal in her house - told ABC: "It was the most freakiest thing - you don't usually see a 1.5-metre crocodile in your lounge room.

"I don't know if he was stalking the dog or he was just trying to get to saltwater, most likely, but it was really a very surreal moment."
