An American man arrested on a highway carrying a huge arsenal of weapons tried to bluff his way out by claiming to be a frontiersman delivering bibles to Native Americans.The unnamed man's car was pulled over on Interstate 70 by patrolmen who found a man dressed "like a pioneer" saying he was travelling to South Dakota to deliver supplies and bibles to Indian children.Police say the man's strange behaviour was accompanied by a strong smell of marijuana leading them to search the car and find weapons including several handguns, a loaded assault rifle, an 8-inch knife secreted in the sun visor, a sniper rifle, and 400 rounds of ammunition.Lt. Craig McGuire, who questioned the man at the scene, said: "He said it was all self-protection and that, it's dangerous out west.''McGuire described the incident as remarkable but also deeply worrying.He added: "Nowadays when you get bizarre behaviour and you have weapons, that's a bad combination.''A later search of the car found large quantities of illegal drugs and a dozen bibles.Videos you might like
