Police arrested two American men after overhearing them discussing a robbery when one of them accidentally dialled 911 from their mobile phone. The two would-be thieves, from San Francisco, who were planning to steal a refrigerator, accidentally contacted authorities when one of them dialled the emergency services number from a phone in his pocket.Detective Eve Jackson said: "It's the kind of phone with the numbers exposed. "Apparently with this type of phone if you hold down the numbernine it automatically dials 911. So Mr. Arnold's phone was in his front jeans pocket, and somehow the number nine got pressed, and central dispatch heard everything they said."Police were sure the call was a hoax as it was April Fools' Day, but waited at the scene in case and were surprised when the men appeared and followed their plan exactly as they described it.0Comments | Be the first to comment!
