One of the highlights of this week’s show came in the form of 16-year old Diana Vickers from Blackburn.

“I adore singing, it’s all I can do, I do it all the time,” she explains to Dermot.

“I want this more than anything, it’s my future, I want to be onstage and do something I love. I want this really badly!”

Once inside the audition room Diana’s cheeks flush and Cheryl asks: “You’re very nervous aren’t you?”

Diana just giggles and the rest of the judges laugh. The ice has broken and she seems to look more at ease.

She tells them that she will be singing The Blower’s Daughter by her idol, Damien Rice: “I love him! I think he’s awesome!”

At the end of her song the judges look at each other and seem pleased with what they have heard.

“There’s something very unique, very distinctive about your voice,” says Cheryl.

Dannii admits that she loves the tone of Diana’s voice, but warns her about her diction.

“Love the song choice and love that you’re different” smiles Louis: “You’re like a little hippy!”

"One of my favourites today," proclaims Simon: "I absolutley loved it."

Diana’s aura must have rubbed off on the judges, as the audition room is filled with peace and love, and she is through to bootcamp.

Far out.
