John Ippolito asked his mate Alex Largent to be a guinea pig to try out his latest equipment, only to discover he had a brain tumour the size of a golf ball which was then successfully removed.
Alex said: ''That was the big calming point was, you know, he has done this so long. He knows that this can happen or that can happen.''
Fortunately, doctors were able to remove the tumour before it was able to do any damage.
