Kerrie Richardson, 27, from Hampshire, got quite a surprise when boyfriend Bryan Hughes, 35, went to the toilet before the start of film ‘Avatar’, before reappearing at the front of the cinema with an engagement ring.

Bryan had arranged for the cinema to show a video of him singing lines from the 1970s Lou Reed hit 'Perfect Day', while the audience - who had been disguised with 3-D glasses - revealed themselves as 50 of their friends and family.

I was shaking and absolutely overwhelmed by Bryan's incredibly romantic gesture.

Kerrie - who accepted the proposal - said: "I was shaking and absolutely overwhelmed by Bryan's incredibly romantic gesture."
