An Australian billionaire has unveiled plans to build an update of Titanic.
''Titanic II will sail in the northern hemisphere and her maiden voyage from England to North America is scheduled for late 2016.''
Clive Palmer has agreed a deal with Chinese company CSC Jinling Shipyard to construct the vessel, which is being referred to as Titanic II, with the same dimensions as the original and the mining magnate expects its maiden voyage to be from England to New York in 2016.
He said in a statement: ''It will be every bit as luxurious as the original Titanic but of course it will have state-of-the-art 21st century technology and the latest navigation and safety systems.
''Titanic II will sail in the northern hemisphere and her maiden voyage from England to North America is scheduled for late 2016.''
The original Titanic sank on its maiden voyage on April 15, 1912.
