Smirnoff has created the world's largest mirror ball.

''Smirnoff believes that when you try something new, you'll have a better time. And what better time to start living that philosophy than when the clocks go back and we're handed a rare extra hour.''

The object - more than 1,000 times the size of an average 12-inch mirror ball at six metres in diameter - is one-and-a-half times taller than a double decker bus and is made up of 2,816 mirrored tiles, which reflect beams of light over London's River Thames from its base at the southern end of the famous Millennium Bridge in the English capital city.

The giant mirror ball has been created to mark the clocks going back this weekend and calls on the three quarters of Brits who plan to spend the extra hour in the comfort of their own bed to make the most of the additional 60 minutes by trying something new.

Emma Sherwood-Smith, Smirnoff Marketing Manager, Western Europe, said: ''Smirnoff believes that when you try something new, you'll have a better time. And what better time to start living that philosophy than when the clocks go back and we're handed a rare extra hour.''
