A four-year-old Chinese boy has been smoking for two years.

Tiny Dong Dong from the village of Banqiao has shocked medical professionals with his heavy smoking and nicotine addiction, fed through cigarettes he steals from his grandparents' shop.

Doctor Zhang Gong, from Anhui Provincial Children's Hospital, said: "From the way the boy smokes and his posture, he looks to have had a long history of smoking even though he is so young."

Dong lives with his grandparents, while his parents work in another city. They say he started smoking by mimicking adults.

His grandmother said: "When he needs cigarettes, he just takes them from the house or steals a pack from the store. We just can't seem to stop him."
