Gnawed toe

A US woman slept while her dog bit off her toe.

Linda Floyd, 56, of Illinois says her miniature dachshund gnawed off her right big toe while she was asleep. Floyd has no feeling in her toes because of nerve damage from diabetes.

Upon awaking and discovering her toe was missing, she called her daughter who then telephoned emergency services.

A vet says the toe had been bandaged because of a hangnail which was healing, which could have somehow attracted the dog. The dog, Roscoe, had to be euthanized due to safety concerns.
