A US man saved a diver being attacked by an alligator by beating the animal with a golf club.
Matt Johnson saw Dwight Monreal, who was looking for his lost balls when he in the jaws of the 11ft alligator.
So he hit the animal with his club until it released Monreal from its jaws.
Johnson said: "I saw this guy emerge from the water and start screaming for help. It was one hell of a struggle. I just did what I could to help.'
Monreal, who makes a living diving for lost balls in a lake on the course in Tampa, Florida, suffered broken bones and bite marks.
He said: "It was the perfect attack. It came from behind and clamped down."
