A US teenager suffers from seizures whenever she hears Hannah Montana.

The girl suffers from a rare form of epilepsy which is triggered by everyday things, including cymbal crashes, dogs barking and a particular song by Hannah, who is the alter ego of Miley Cyrus.

I actually had another patient a number of years ago with reading-related epilepsy. If he read something in a book with a certain type of font, he'd have a seizure.

The track and other low baritone-type sounds causes the girl, who has not been named, to involuntarily shake and her body to jerk forwards, which can happen as many as 25 and 30 times a day and is called `Reflex Epilepsy'.

Dr. James Geyer, a neurologist and epilepsy specialist said: "It's like abnormal feedback off a microphone.

"I actually had another patient a number of years ago with reading-related epilepsy. If he read something in a book with a certain type of font, he'd have a seizure."

Fortunately the girl - who has since stopped listening to the Miley Cyrus song in question - is said to be responding well to anti-seizure medication, and her family help her to avoid other triggers which cause the epilepsy.

Dr. Geyer added: "Her prognosis is good. In a lot of people, these seizures go away over time."
