Canadian police rushed to a man's home after he was reported to have been yelling in pain, only to discover he was having toilet issues.
''The officers asked him to try to keep the noise down in such future endeavours and he said he would do his best.''
A woman heard a lengthy period of moaning and yelling coming from his flat in British Columbian capital Victoria and feared her neighbour was in trouble, so she called 911. Police turned up at the man's apartment to investigate but the unidentified man eventually came to the door and explained he had simply been on the toilet.
Writing on the Victoria Police Department's official blog, Stories Beyond The Beat, deputy chief John Ducker explained: ''When questioned about the amount of noise he was making, the man explained that he had been essentially (in his own different words) on the toilet having his morning constitutional but he was done now.
''The officers asked him to try to keep the noise down in such future endeavours and he said he would do his best.''
