A South African woman survived a 200-foot fall from a bridge.
Kavisha Seevnarain, 26, a student teacher, was hijacked by thugs while driving near the city of Durban. She was then driven around for hours and forced to withdraw money before cruelly being thrown over the bridge.
Landing in shallow water and surviving is one thing, but even then she would have drowned if she had lost consciousness
She landed in shallow water and despite suffering seven broken ribs, a fractured pelvis and lower spine injuries, managed to pull herself to a sandbank where her cries attracted a walker's attention.
Her brother, Kavesh, a doctor, said: "It is miraculous. Landing in shallow water and surviving is one thing, but even then she would have drowned if she had lost consciousness. And if the tide had not been out, she would have been swept away."
