A US man has finally graduated after 50 years.Clarence Garrett - who gave up his studies to concentrate on raising a family in the 40s - returned to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as a full-time student last year and got a standing ovation as he collected his degree.The black ex-World War II soldier - who was cheered on by his wife, children and grandchildren - said he loved his university experience. The 87-year-old said: "After all my children went to college ... I said, 'Why shouldn't I?' And I have loved it ever since."University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Chancellor Carlos Santiago said: "We are not sure if Clarence Garrett is the oldest to ever graduate from UWM, but we do know that there had not been a graduate for some time who was born when the president was Woodrow Wilson."
