'Coronation Street's Michael Le Vell has returned to work after being cleared of child sex abuse allegations.
'Coronation Street's Michael Le Vell as returned to work.
The 47-year-old actor - who plays mechanic Kevin Webster - made his comeback yesterday (12.01.12) after recently being "completely exonerated" of child sex abuse claims.
A 'Coronation Street' insider said: "Everyone is over the moon for Michael."
After the case against Michael was dropped at the beginning of this month, he paid tribute to his castmates in the ITV1 soap for standing by him.
Michael - who had been off work since the allegations were brought against him in September - said: "I'd like to thank the public sincerely for their loyal support during what's been a most difficult and upsetting period.
"I also give special thanks to colleagues and ITV for unwavering support.
"I'm delighted to be completely exonerated. It is now my intention to continue working."
The father-of-two - who separated from his wife Janette last year - also thanked the police for the "thorough" investigation they did.
He said: "I would like to give thanks to Greater Manchester Police for the fair, thorough and independent investigation they conducted. I have maintained my innocence throughout and I am delighted to be completely exonerated by the decision that there will be no further action taken in this matter."
