Coronation Street leads NTA nominations

'Coronation Street' has been nominated for four National Television Awards, while 'Emmerdale', 'EastEnders' and 'Doctor Who' are all up for three accolades.
'Coronation Street' leads the nominations for this year's National Television Awards.
The ITV1 soap has been shortlisted for prizes in four categories, while rival soaps 'EastEnders' and 'Emmerdale', are up for three honours each, with all three shows contesting for the coveted Serial Drama award alongside 'Hollyoaks'.
'Coronation Street' also sees its stars Katherine Kelly and Alison King compete with Emmerdale's Danny Miller and 'EastEnders' actress Jessie Wallace for Serial Drama Performance, while Chris Fountain's portrayal of Tommy Duckworth has saw him recognised in the Newcomer category.
He is up against 'Emmerdale' actress Chelsea Halfpenny and Jacqueline Jossa from 'EastEnders' for the award.
Meanwhile, 'Doctor Who' has also been nominated for three awards, including Drama - a category which has also seen 'Downton Abbey', 'Merlin' and 'Waterloo Road' shortlisted - and Drama Performance Male and Female for its stars Matt Smith and Karen Gillan.
Ant and Dec could take home their eleventh consecutive Entertainment Presenter prize, if they can beat off competition from Keith Lemon, Dermot O'Leary and Michael McIntyre.
One of the most hotly-contested awards will be the Talent Show category, which sees 'X Factor' defend its crown against 'Strictly Come Dancing', 'Dancing On Ice' and 'Britain's Got Talent'.
Winners of the publicly-voted awards will be announced by host Dermot O'Leary at a star-studded ceremony at London's The O2 on January 26.
