A South African couple who had pledged to only get married when it snowed in Johannesburg have finally tied the knot.

''The entire wedding with all the bells and whistles was organised in just three hours.''

The couple - Rui Moca and Monique Joubert - had originally planned to wed next year during the winter but when the city was surprisingly covered in a blanket of the white stuff they decided to get married immediately and achieve their dream of a ''real'' white wedding.

Monique's sister called Jacaranda FM to tell them about the couple's plans, and the radio station began organising a minister, lawyer, photographer, flowers, cake and limo enabling the bride and groom to marry in the studio in the early evening that day.

Jacaranda DJ Martin Bester explained: ''The entire wedding with all the bells and whistles was organised in just three hours.''
