A family have renamed their hamster Jesus after he dug himself out of a 2ft deep grave.
''He's a plucky little soul and seems unaffected by being dead and buried.''
The four year old pet - previously known as Rhino - was buried by owner Dave Eyley in a plastic tub after he was found ''cold and lifeless'' in his cage and thought to be dead - but he miraculously came back to life and was walking around the garden the next day.
Dave's neighbour Sandy Humphreys called him to inform him of the Easter miracle, and the shocked owner was totally ''flabbergasted''.
He replied: ''It's impossible -- our hamster is dead. He had rigor mortis when I buried him -- and now he's running about.
