An Australian man has been arrested after trying to shoplift by stuffing his shorts with sausages.

The unnamed 38 year old man was caught after workers at the supermarket in Cairns, Australia noticed something wasn't quite right.

The police were called and the sausages were confiscated from his shorts and pockets - though not put back on the shelves for sale.

He was unlucky - in July, shoplifters took trolley-loads of supplies out of the store two days in a row, but nobody stopped them.
