Croatian schools have been forced to cancel playtime after being bombarded by hungry seagulls who started grabbing pupils' packed lunches.
The protected species have resorted to scavenging owing to an explosion in their numbers.
A Porec city official said: "It is too dangerous for school kids to go outside. We have to do something about the situation before it gets any worse."
