Cardboard cut outs of Czech police officers wearing miniskirts have doubled the amount of traffic accidents.

Drivers were reportedly so busy looking at the cutouts - which were planted at road junctions to make roads safer - with raised hemlines, high heels, stockings and lipstick, that they were unable to concentrate on driving.

One driver involved in a crash said: "I admit I was looking at her, thinking what the hell is she wearing a miniskirt for in this weather?"

The Czech interior ministry is now said to be rethinking the scheme after receiving numerous complaints.
