Squeaky scandal

A German couple have been taken to court after their noisy bedsprings caused havoc for their neighbours.

Lichtenburg-based lovers Stefanie Mueller and Lucas Zetsch are facing charges of noise pollution after police in the town received 10 complaints from sleep-deprived neighbours, who claimed the pair's passionate nights were keeping them awake.

After refusing to pay a financial penalty for their misdemeanours, the couple were summonsed before a judge, who read witness statements, claiming their bed had been squeaking for nearly two hours one night.

However, Mr. Zetsch defended their lovemaking. He said: "It was totally normal sex, nothing exciting."

The case has since been thrown out of court after the complainants failed to turn up for the hearing
