Toilet trap trouble

A French woman has been rescued after being trapped in a toilet for three weeks.

The unnamed 69 year old - who hails from the Parisian suburb of Epinay-sous-Senart - became trapped in her bathroom after accidentally breaking the lock off her door on November 1.

After screaming for help to no avail, the woman survived the ordeal by drinking tap water and brushing her teeth plenty of times.

A neighbour explained: "She was at her wits' end. Her flat is on the second floor and has no window, so she couldn't call for help. There was absolutely nothing she could do except bang on the wall at night.

"Some neighbours even moaned about the noise - but they had no idea where it was coming from."

Police were eventually called to the scene, and rescued the "thin and weak-looking" woman from the bathroom.
