The United Arab Emirates has had snow for the first time ever, the fall left a white blanket over the mountains of Ras al-Khaimah.The snow fell over the Al-Jees mountain range in Ras al-Khaimah, the most northerly member of the UAE federation, as the desert country saw a cold snap and above average rainfall. The English-language Gulf News reported that the mountain range had experienced heavy night-time snowfall for the past two days as a result of temperatures dropping to -5C.There has been heavy rain in Dubai where half an inch of rain fell in one day, this is an area that sometimes does not see rain for years at a time.
