A British family were shocked to discover a dead lizard in their loaf of bread.

''The poor little lad was absolutely traumatised by it. He went to take a slice off for some toast, turned the loaf over and found the lizard stuck on the bottom.''

William Evans, 10 was stunned when he found the creature while he was eating his breakfast, and he shrieked so loudly that his father Marcus ran downstairs in a frenzied panic.

Marcus explained: ''The poor little lad was absolutely traumatised by it. He went to take a slice off for some toast, turned the loaf over and found the lizard stuck on the bottom.''

The Evans family complained to their local Tesco supermarket about the lizard, but Marcus claims the customer service department told him it was impossible for a reptile to get inside one of their loaves of bread due to their high hygiene standards.
