A British hospital has launched a new range of 'modesty' hospital gowns.

Workers at the North Bristol NHS Trust medical centre were so fed up of complaints about the traditional garments - which tie up at the rear and expose patients’ bottoms - they’ve designed a range of wraparound gowns which protect the modesty of the wearer by tying at the sides.

Carol de Halle, the Trust's acting director of Nursing said: ''Traditional hospital gowns have been the butt of many a joke over the years.

The trust have ordered 1,000 of the gowns and say feedback from staff and patients has so far been positive.
