According to Saga insurance, in the last 12 months, they have had claims from several drivers relating to animal incidents, the Daily Mirror newspaper reports.

One was hiking round the national park in Dartmoor before returning to his vehicle to drive home, which is when he found his car being licked by 12 horses. It caused £1,200 of damage.

Another driver was also let down by their prized cattle. When he tied her to a post in the car park of a cattle show, she bolted, causing £800 worth of damage to his vehicle.
