Automated car park opens in West Hollywood

The multi storey works by robotically parking up to 200 cars in a three-storey garage, the Daily Mirror newspaper reports.

To use the parking, drivers put their vehicles into a bay before jumping out the car and placing their ticket in a machine, which activates the contraption to lift their car up to the parking level.

The city of West Hollywood Mayor Lauren Meister said: ''The technology is amazing - and kind of fun, too! I drove in facing one way, but my car came out facing the other way ... how does it know?''
