Bakers unveil world's biggest mince pie

A baker has unveiled the world's biggest mince pie.

It has got the star cut out on top too just as we would with our normal sized pies - the only difference is this is 100 times bigger!''

Charlotte Shaw, who owns Lottie Shaw's bakery in Elland, near Halifax, West Yorkshire, challenged her team to make the enormous pastry desert which weighs in at two stone and contains a whopping 56,140 calories.

Surprisingly, the pie - which is 27 inches across in diameter - took just an hour to cook up, reports Express.co.uk.

Charlotte, 40, said: ''It took about an hour to cook - it normally takes 23 minutes. It is huge.

''We think we have made the world's biggest mince pie that actually looks like a mince pie. It has got the star cut out on top too just as we would with our normal sized pies - the only difference is this is 100 times bigger!''
