Britain's oldest penguin has celebrated its 37th birthday.
''At the moment she is freshly moulted. She is a very healthy and happy-looking bird, hopefully she has many more years to come.''
Pat - who now lives at Living Coasts in Torquay, south west England - was born at the nearby Paignton Zoo in 1978.
The penguin has her own private beach, which she shares with Eddie, a penguin that was hatched at the zoo in 2001.
She was given two cakes: a flower-shaped one full of sprats and a blue gelatine one, which was also filled with sprats.
Chris Dunn, the penguin keeper at Living Coasts, said: ''Pat has a very distinctive stance with her flippers sticking out. She can be seen by her burrow or down at the public feeds...
''At the moment she is freshly moulted. She is a very healthy and happy-looking bird, hopefully she has many more years to come.''
