New statistics show that people living in the UK are turning to tradition exercises as it is considerably cheaper and more effective than going to the gym, with the average gym membership costing £879.12 per year.

Skipping comes top as the most effective exercise, burning a massive 10 calories per minute compared to five calories per minute on popular gym activity, the treadmill.

Celebrity skipping fans include the likes Gigi Hadid, Kate Hudson, Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry and Miranda Kerr, as the exercise is easy to fit into any busy schedule and guarantees results.

The research has been conducted by leading antiperspirant brand Sure, an official Sport Relief partner, shows that skipping is not only effective.
