Canadian town opens gopher museum

A Canadian town has opened a gopher museum.

''Life in Torrington is as diverse and interesting as the gophers and humans who populate this land.''

The town of Torrington in Canada solved their gopher infestation problem by stuffing the dead animals and putting them in costumes and different scenarios.

The rodents are considered a pest by most and can cost a fortune to be exterminated but the Canadian town of Torrington came up with a creative way of turning its infestation into a positive thing by stuffing the dead rodents and putting them in different scenarios within a museum.

There are 47 different scenes in the town's Gopher Hole Museum which include gopher fisherman, poker players, campers and cowboys and they attract an estimated 6,000 visitors each year.

The museum says of its town: ''Life in Torrington is as diverse and interesting as the gophers and humans who populate this land.''
