A dog has been spotted on Mount Kilimanjaro.

How it survived in such freezing conditions and what it ate during that time remains a mystery to us.

The pooch was seen on the summit of Africa's highest mountain - which is between 5,730 and 5,895 metres above sea level and temperatures range from minus four to 15C - by a tourist who took a photograph of the pooch.

Abel Edward, from Ahsante Tours which hosted the group, told Tanzania's The Citizen newspaper: "When the tourists showed us the picture of this dog we could not believe our eyes.
