Dog saves three people from fire
A dog has saved three people from a fire.
The canine - who has been nicknamed ''Smokey'' by firefighters - roused its owners when smoke began to fill the ground floor of their property in west London.
Two men and one woman were trapped by the flames and smoke but thanks to their dog waking them, had enough time to call firefighters who rushed to put it out the flames.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, a spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said: ''The residents of the ground floor flat - where the fire started - were lucky their dog alerted them to the fire as a smoke alarm fitted in the property had no battery in it and did not sound.''
