A gas mask and a canoe are just a handful of the weird items police have sold on its eBay store.

The recovered items from crimes are put up for sale to the general public by police forces across the country.

And according to the Daily Mail Online, forces in Devon and Cornwall, Leicestershire, Sussex and Nottinghamshire have reportedly sold a wide-range of goods with some of the more unusual items including; a First World War leather pistol holster (£148), a clarinet (£170.55) and a full-sized canoe (£101.89).

Devon and Cornwall Police sold more than £50,000 worth of goods over the last three years. It earned £4,541 in 2014, almost £12,000 in 2015 and a staggering £27,352 in 2016.

Over the last two months, Devon and Cornwall Police sold items worth more than £8,000, including listings for gas masks (£36) and a rifle magnifying scope (£15).

The most expensive item the force sold in 2016 appears to be a set of tyres, according to the schedule of listing obtained via a freedom of information request, but no other details are available.
