Hello Kitty dictionary misprint horrifies mum
A misprint in a 'Hello Kitty' dictionary has left a parent fuming.
''Then you come across this awful description of murder. What sort of thing is that for little girls to read?''
Samantha Rawlins from Stockton, Northern England spotted the error whilst reading through the book with her daughters - Casey, nine, and 7-year-old Demi - the Daily Mirror newspaper reports.
The term necklace had been defined firstly as ''a piece of jewellery'' but the second definition read: ''In South Africa, a name for a tyre filled with petrol which is placed round a person's neck and set on fire in order to kill that person''.
Samantha said: ''I couldn't believe it. The book is full of cute little pictures of kittens.
''Then you come across this awful description of murder. What sort of thing is that for little girls to read?''
The publishers insist that after the errors were realised, all copies were pulped and that any still going round were resold.
