A team of diggers from Japan have won 100,000 yen and a golden shovel after triumphing in the country's All-National Hole Digging Competition.
A team of diggers from Japan have won the country's All-National Hole Digging Competition.
The winning team received 100,000 yen ($1,300) and a golden shovel after digging a hole 3.39 metres deep in 30 minutes.
More than a thousand people took part in the event on the outskirts of Tokyo, with awards given for the deepest and most creative hole as well as for the most original costume worn while digging.
