The Inbetweeners' James Buckley applies for Crystal Palace job

'The Inbetweeners' star James Buckley has applied to be manager of Crystal Palace Football Club.

''drink more than 10 pints of cider and still drive a car safely''

The 26-year-old funnyman sent a spoof application on behalf of his TV and movie alter-ego, Jay Cartwright, listing a number of womanising, drinking and money-making exploits on his CV.

Jay wrote that he had been working with their new signing, Rio Ferdinand, at 'Jay & Rio's Pussay Patrol Car Stereos' and claimed he could ''drink more than 10 pints of cider and still drive a car safely''.

The job became available earlier this month when manager Tony Pulis stepped down from the position and chairman Steve Parish has taken to Twitter to comment on James' application.

He wrote: ''Excellent cv, working with rio on the stereo business is key, ability to manage big players, @rioferdy is it true (sic).''
