A woman is believed to have become ill at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, in Lincolnshire, during her trip to the venue over the weekend, and fellow swimmer Steve Wiseman has revealed the manager decided to switch on the tidal trigger to disperse the sick.

Speaking to the Grimsby Telegraph, Steve said: ''We heard a manager was called to the pool. But they couldn't decide what to do.

''All he did was send a lifeguard into the pool to scoop out the lumps. Then he ordered the wave machine to be switched on to stir it up.''

Lincs Inspire, who manages the pool, said they are happy to explain cleaning procedures with customers as they have insisted the company follows national industry and safety guidelines.
