A man - who was born a woman - is thought to have become Britain's first ''male mother'' after giving birth.

A man is thought to have become Britain's first ''male mother'' after giving birth.

''We sometimes get people coming back to say thanks for our help. He got back in touch and said he had had the baby.''

The man - who has not been named - was born a woman but had a sex change operation - and he approached transgender support group the Beaumont Society to gain advice about having a kid.

Joanna Darrell, from the group, said: ''The society, all it does is provide information and acts as an information hub for people to find data about specific things, and we are able to refer them to more specialist organisations.

''We sometimes get people coming back to say thanks for our help. He got back in touch and said he had had the baby.''
