Man finds larva and eggs inside orange

A man found a larva and its eggs in his orange.

''I looked inside and there was some kind of maggot or larvae and millions of little eggs.''

Hassan Ali and his colleagues had been so eager to tuck into their Sainsbury's Taste the Difference mandarin oranges - which they'd bought from Manchester Piccadilly train station in North West England - that they'd already consumed three by the time one of them discovered the wriggling creature and its offspring inside one.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''The smell was horrible, disgusting. It smelt like really strong rotting food.

''I looked inside and there was some kind of maggot or larvae and millions of little eggs.''

He added: ''I'm not really that put off by it. I don't even think this will put me off buying fruit from Sainsbury' again.''
