The cyclist was travelling through Boise, Idaho, when he decided to relieve himself in a ravine, but things soon turned fiery when he set his used toilet paper alight to avoid littering, which swiftly set nearby dry grass on fire.
The blaze spread across 73 acres of land before it was extinguished seven hours later, although no injuries were reported.
Carrie Bilbao, a spokesperson for the Bureau of Land Management, warned ''it's not a good idea'' to burn toilet paper.
