Mayor dumps 20-tonne rock on ex's driveway

A Canadian mayor has got his own back on his ex-wife by placing a 20-tonne rock on her driveway to wish her a happy birthday.

A Canadian mayor has put a 20-tonne rock on his ex-wife's driveway.

Dany Lariviere - who is the civic leader of small provincial town St-Theodore-d'Acton and owner of the local quarry - made the gesture on Isabelle Prevost's birthday one year on from the end of their 10-year marriage.

The stone had the message 'Happy Birthday Isa' spray painted in orange writing.

He explained to the Canadian Press: "I brought what we call a big rock to my ex-wife.

"I took a rock from one of my quarries and I brought it to her place with a little message and a nice ribbon, just like a real gift."
